In a new feature, each week we will be spotlighting and awarding our very own excellence award to a Lodge, a Province, a Grand Lodge, a Mason or another organisation who we feel epitomises Masonic greatness.
So, why have we chosen the Grand Lodge of Ohio this week?
Firstly, the name of the website. Enough to clinch any award! https://www.freemason.com/. If you wanted an example of forward thinking, someone was clearly on the ball registering this website address before some other enterprising Mason(s) got hold of it!… wish I had 🙂
Secondly, not just a great name, they have a brilliant website to go with it! We like the professional, clean and positive look and feel. We particularly liked the fact that there is enough excellent content to keep both existing and prospective members engaged.
Thirdly, they have an easy to use Search function to look up Lodges and meeting dates. Something all us busy Masons need and with very few Grand Lodge or Provincial Websites allowing this feature.
Finally and actually most importantly, they have a portal section and within it they have encouraged members to create a profile so that members can keep in touch during the covid crisis. A really classy touch gents.
At joinfreemasonry.co.uk we are all proud to be Masons, but when we see excellence, commitment and such care being take of our fellow Brethren it makes us even prouder!
